The renowned publisher has welcomed Ben Brinkman from the creators of Apex Legends to direct the development team at 31st Union, which is currently crafting the forthcoming over-the-shoulder action-packed title known as this innovative game.
Leadership Transition Comes After Poor Feedback
Brinkman takes on the role of studio head at the development studio following the departure of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was removed from his post due to Project Ethos' underwhelming initial reveal last fall.
On Wednesday, 2K president David Ismailer updated staff about this organizational change through an official communication, which stressed that playtesting had revealed the necessity for a clearer game identity.
Ismailer stated that the developers is now refining the project with a revised focus, aiming to satisfy player expectations.
A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment
This announcement mirrors a similar step taken by 2K Games in the summer, when they recruited an industry veteran from the Diablo team to assist with the BioShock studio Cloud Chamber.
