Roughly 50 vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.
Police state they were alerted in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Law enforcement then discovered many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations outlawing the visible presentation of Nazi symbols.
Police state early analysis indicate the liquid was likely blood from a person.
"There is still no clue as to its source; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Municipal representatives said they were trying "to unravel the case" and have requested to the public for tips.
An important representative commented the vandalism rendered him speechless and required to be solved promptly.
"This act strikes at the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the extremist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, recalling the death of nine people by a assailant focusing on people of immigrant origin in 2020.
